I'm not sure why anyone would waste their time with anything less than a 100% nozzle. I can't count on 2 hands the amount of people I know who tow heavy with 100% nozzles and a 38r and never have egt issues. In my experience, guys running 100 and 200% nozzles actually ran cooler when towing...- Petro

In my opinion, it's a pretty significant difference. I'm not a 4r fan, especially not in stock form so my opinion is slightly flawed. I've owned several of both and I enjoyed my 6 speed trucks 100% more than my autos. Handled a load better, made better mileage and I like the low end grunt of a... -

With all the testing and custom common rail work swamps did, was anything ever released to the public? For a couple years there I was patiently waiting for news on the CR 7.3 to be out and running, but it never came.- Petro

Yes there's nothing keeping a 7.3 from spinning rpm other than the ****ty heui setup. The mechanical and common rail guys are spinning them as fast as any other motor.- Petro

I believe the discussion on removing cubic inch was strictly to deal with the limitations of heui injection system like the OP suggested. Basically making the most of the fuel the 7.3 is able to inject in the given window. With a common rail Injection system, I don't see any reason to eliminate...- Petro

If less cubic inch was what you were after, I would think sleeving down the size of the cylinders would be a simpler way to go about it. I'm very curious to see where this discussion goes. Seems like I remember Morgan saying something about removing cubic inch from a 7.3 in a discussion a few...- Petro

6.4 compound turbos
There wouldn't be a way to attach the up pipes to the charger. It would require more fab work then what it'd be worth. You'd have to attach the up pipes to a round flange of some sort. There are definitely better options. What's wrong with the factory compounds? Why not just keep running them? -

That's the housing that Ford should have installed from the factory. Makes them alot more responsive.- Petro

6 speed questions
I've heard alot of good things about Pensoil SynchroMesh in the ZF transmissions. I've heard from several people that it works wonders. I've never ran it personally, my ZF6 has just mercon ATF. -
Who has used glow shift guages and pod?
The obs pods are kind of that way. The pillar doesn't slope as much as a superduty so it's not ideal. You kind of get what you pay for, but with that being said I've had great luck with the 4 or 5 sets of glowshift gauges I've installed and when I did have issues, their customer service was great.- Petro
