Would adding a second charger over a S300 non VGT work worth a darn? I see all the compound "kits" for the 6.7 are over a factory VGT and it got me thinking about a non VGT set of compounds. I'm thinking it might be too much?
FWIW. I know Jim's LE is superior oil however sometimes I'm changing last minute and don't have a chance to order from him but I recently went 15,200 miles on Rotella T6 with a Motorcraft filter and Amsoil BP100 no filter changes in that period and the Amsoil filter already had around 45k miles...
I haven't come across that issue. These transmissions are very strong and even when they are hurt bad they still keep going. You could try unloading and reloading your transmission file and go through the relearn process otherwise it could be related to a shift solenoid.
I've had great luck Nitto terra graps, original, m/t, and G2. Got over 60k very hard miles out of my first set without a flat or blowout. I am on G2s now with around 40k miles and I haven't been too good on rotating so the rear are more worn (more from towing than burnouts) and the M/Ts had 25k...
I have a 63mm non vgt and have more HP than stock for sure. Tuning makes a big difference but you can't tune out the lag. At times it makes driving in traffic a pain because of the low boost. It is fun when the boost comes on! I tow a bunch in hilly very narrow roads that require speeds from 40...
The exhaust smell from my truck changes from time to time. There are times it doesn't even smell like diesel and other times it smells like my old 7.3. No change in tunes and I fuel up at the same place 90% of the time so I can't attribute it to anything other than as Sootie said, ambient temp...
I get 17 on the highway, 15 in town, 10 towing up to 10k pounds and 8-9 over 10k pounds. No lift, factory tire size deeleted non VGT and I enjoy spirited driving when not in traffic. Oh, and I have a HUGE muffler that has not affected mileage.
Could be difference in 6.0 vs 6.7? Also placement can make a difference; I have mine about a foot past the connection to the downpipe. It is so long that it goes all the way past the back of the cab.
I love mine. Not stoopid loud or obnoxious just enough to let people know it is not stock. Plus those in the know will quickly catch on that you have a non VGT because of the prominent whistle coming from the exhaust.
I have 5" exhaust and 4" aftermarket downpipe. Started with a muffler when I had factory turbo and switched to straight pipe until the Rick Flair became annoying so I went back to the muffler. After going non VGT I pulled the muffler again until the noise and drone drove me nuts so on went the...
Thank you sir, you answered my question. Kind of thought that the 15 pump with 63mm might be just the sweet spot combo. Currently I have light haze at full throttle with the 11-14 pump on GH tune, TD will drain the rails if the truck is under a load with full throttle.
+2 on the Donaldson. Quiet in the cab and no performance difference than straight pipe or muffler. I have 5" pipe and got mine off of Ryder fleet products. Beware they are huge mufflers so you may want to have a shop put it on, I did mine myself and it rattles occasionally against the frame.
Where in Texas are you traveling? 30 and 35 is Dallas area? If you are headed South there are a few shops that might stock and install around Austin and San Antonio, I'm not as familiar with North Texas shops.
I already have a hole in the bed and the filler neck as been spliced because previous owner had a xfer tank. My question is more about the tank itself. Is there a connection on both the aux and xfer tanks that you can connect your hose to? I thought xfer tanks only had fill and xfer holes on the...
