    Look in the engine valley around the turbo coolant line on the driver side, I've seen a few leaking at the fitting and line and some leaking from the turbo itself.

    Is Rotella really bad on a 7.3?

    I'll bump this back up too, any long term results guys. I've always ran Rotella and I have an oil consumption problem, may have been my turbo that I replaced, haven't ran it long enough to tell. This has got me to thinking about trying Valvoline.

    That's a real good point, it's been considered, I don't have much internal trans experience besides doin some valve bodies. I see your from Shelbyville, I was born there, still got family there, bought some handmade furniture up there a few months ago.

    I think it would be a lot easier to go with the Ford HD unit. I am a Ford tech, so no shipping prices or core refunds and it has a better warranty. That's the hassle of the aftermarket transmissions, they may be a better made tougher unit, but I don't want to be without a truck shipping...

    I'll be there Saturday night, got to work Saturday. Just a friendly reminder, lock your trucks up tight and lock your tailgates. Had my recon taillights stolen there a couple years ago. It's a long ride back to Alabama at 2 o'clock in the morning with no tail lights.

    I've done it probably ten times with the ole needle nose vise grip technique, I like to add a little grey silicone to the adapter to help the o-ring stick to it, then some around the adapter for the nut squash down. It's about time to do my truck it's getting a lil moist.
