    Just broke down

Well from what I've read when the hpfp goes bad it pumps metal throughout the entire fuel system. What I don't understand is why the Ford dealer tried to start the truck after replacing just the hpfp. Can't find the paperwork from the dealer but I do know they changed the hpfp and 2 injectors.

    Replacing fuel system

Hey guys it's been several months but I am ready to buy the parts to get my 6.4 back up. I made a thread back in December about it going down and the Ford dealer replaced the hpfp and afterwards replaced 2 injectors. Still wouldn't start. Is it necessary to replace the just replaced hpfp? Also...

    Just broke down

Would I just have to call the dealer about the hpfp? Truck is sitting in my driveway so Ill have to do it myself without pulling the cab.

    Just broke down

Hey guys looking to start getting all the parts needed to fix the truck. What all will I need and are there any recommended vendors? Im just wanting to get it running and will be trading it in. I know Ill need new injectors and the fuel lines. Is this something I should be able to do without a...

To be honest idk cause off the bat I'd say they would both be considered fuel system parts.

    Just broke down

Do you guys mean the hpfp that was just installed needs to be replaced? The way I understood it the old one went bad pumping metal into the whole fuel system. Or has them trying to start it since recirculated metal into the now replaced hpfp?

    Just broke down

How much am I looking at in parts after the hpfp and 2 injectors were already changed? For the rest of the injectors do I have to use the same ones?

    Just broke down

I'm just going to have it towed to my place once it's back together. They said it would've been about $6k to replace the other 6 injectors, some cooler and the fuel rails plus I got the feeling this dealer wasn't too familiar with diesels. Should I replace the fuel system myself or is the whole...

I got the short end of the stick on this one :(

How on earth was an f150 $800 a month?

    Just broke down

When it rains it pours. Had them replace 2 hanging injectors and to no surprise when the hpfp went out it pumped metal all through the fuel system and my aftermarket warranty doesn't cover fuel system parts.

At this point if I went in and asked to put my tune back on would they most likely call the warranty place so I would have to pay for the whole bill?

I changed the tune back to stock after it broke down and wouldn't start just to see if it made a difference. Then it was towed to the dealer. Do the techs not have tools to tell them if the truck has had a different tune?

Well once this is finally straightened out the only place I'm taking it is the dealer to trade in. Does anyone know if having the *** removed and the tune returned to stock could be the issue? I returned it to stock before I dropped it off.

The latest is the dealer said 2 injectors are hanging open and the truck won't start. At this point it sounds like they're just guessing on parts but I need it fixed before I can trade it in. What the stock tune being on it even though the *** has been ******d be causing these issues?

    Just broke down

Today the dealer called saying they're waiting to hear back from ford since the truck won't start. I'm guessing it's because I returned the tune to stock and my *** is ******d. I thought they would've noticed it as ******d right away.

Was supposed to pick the truck up today but when I got there they said 2 injectors were hanging. To add to my bad luck someone pulled out in front of me yesterday which totaled my dads old f150.

and the final verdict after having ford call the warranty place back is I only have to pay for diagnostics and some sensor, so about $400 total. What are the chances of the injectors being bad after they get the hpfp replaced?

    Just broke down

So after spending 2 1/2 hrs to get home (someone wrecked on top of the usual traffic) I was definitely annoyed so I called the warranty co to see about all this. Seems to be a miscommunication. They said everything was covered and that the job with pulling the cab is 11.8 hrs as opposed to 15 by...

And so days later I thought I was good... Ford just called and said the warranty wont cover diagnostics, gaskets, fluids or the costs to remove the cab. They're covering about $2k and my end will be about a grand. I should have the truck back in about 3 days. As much as I love the truck I can't...

Small update after being out of the loop-the warranty company called the dealer to give them authorization to do the repairs and the parts have been ordered. This is a huge relief but to be honest Im paranoid about other big $ parts going bad now.
