'99.5 No Start: Stumped and Crunched on Time

My truck being down is really causing a lot of headaches. Me traveling for work right now, makes these headaches even worse. Truck: '99.5, 7.3L, 140k on the clock The problem: Not starting. It will crank, and crank, and crank...but nothing. - No smoke - Tach moves (to approximately 100 RPM) -...

Electrical Issue I could REALLY use some help with: New PCM and Truck Not Starting

Fuggin A'...it was the batteries (well at least that part). So much for less than year old Sears Diehard Platinums...will NEVER buy those again.:slap: Now to figure out why the truck still isn't starting.

Electrical Issue I could REALLY use some help with: New PCM and Truck Not Starting

Truck wouldn't even crank. I think this may be a LOT simpler than I thought.:slap: I think my nice, expensive, pretty well new Diehard Platinum batteries are lumps of crap. They've died once on me, and I'm pretty sure they did...again. Everything else seemed normal, just tried jumping it for...

Electrical Issue I could REALLY use some help with: New PCM and Truck Not Starting

Alright, so this is becoming a short nightmare for me. Truck is a '99.5, 7.3L, Manual. My truck had presented problems (non-responsive gas pedal, randomly dying, not really responding at all to my PHP Hydra). The truck has always had a bit of a cold start issue if not plugged in, and sometimes...

Tuner Less Noticable with a Manual or Just Not Working Right - PHP Hydra

OR...I could do proper diagnostics to figure out if my truck has an issue in a certain area before driving around in a modded tune and thus fukkering things up due to not running with a 100% healthy engine

Tuner Less Noticable with a Manual or Just Not Working Right - PHP Hydra

Yeah, figured I'd just ask if there was supposed to be otherwise. The PCM was sent to PHP, along with the Hydra, and re-tinned. Not sure I'm following you on the other part? See above  It's coming off, and going to have the tube just drop into another catch can. I did the oil...

Tuner Less Noticable with a Manual or Just Not Working Right - PHP Hydra

Clutch doesn't feel like it's slipping at all as far as I can tell. 80DD is the hottest I've tried, but I can try higher. I completely agree, I just wanted to post number in case someone saw something that made them go "hmmmmm" that I would not be aware of. My plan is to try and do some...

Tuner Less Noticable with a Manual or Just Not Working Right - PHP Hydra

Ok, so I FINALLY was able to get some time to run the truck. I replaced the ICP with one from dieselorings.com, so I can now fully rule that out. Here are the numbers: 1.) Stock Setting on the Hydra: 2.) 80DD Setting on the Hydra I do notice the ICP number for the HPOP being about...

Tuner Less Noticable with a Manual or Just Not Working Right - PHP Hydra

That's what I keep getting told. Even without any gauges to confirm it should make the truck feel night and day different. I look at getting my gauges in and getting the Torque app reading again. My first question would be...where to start? I'll be replacing the ICP, but when looking at...

Tuner Less Noticable with a Manual or Just Not Working Right - PHP Hydra

Couldn't much tell you on smoke since it was dark out. I tried "stock" and 80DD. I'll reprogram it tomorrow to make sure other tunes (like high idle and whisper) work. I've got the basics covered as far as intake (AIS), and exhaust (4" turbo back). I've got some Isspro EV2s (Fuel pressure...

Tuner Less Noticable with a Manual or Just Not Working Right - PHP Hydra

Oooookie dokie, back to the top with this. So I sent the PCM and Hydra off to PHP. Had them re-tin the PCM and make sure the Hydra and PCM were communicating properly. So, all is good from that end...however...still no real "difference" in feeling between stock and 80DD. :( I drove it around...

Tuner Less Noticable with a Manual or Just Not Working Right - PHP Hydra

Yeah they went a weeee bit overboard. I'm sure that it wouldn't be too hard...but in this case I'd rather trust someone familiar with it. The reason I was thinking of possibly sending it off to Jody or Bill, is that I'm hoping they could re-tin it, and then hook it up to make sure its working...

Tuner Less Noticable with a Manual or Just Not Working Right - PHP Hydra

Thanks for the pics and numbers. So reloaded the tunes to see if that might be it...nope. I'll take a look at my up pipes...but even with "weak" stuff I should be seeing SOMETHING. Was at a fellow 4x4er's shop in Northern Colorado today. He runs the Hydra and agrees even if things were weak...

Tuner Less Noticable with a Manual or Just Not Working Right - PHP Hydra

Been doing that essentially. I'll drive around for a bit in the stock tune, to set that as my base line. After a little bit i'll switch it to the 80DD to see if I feel any difference...nadda. I did sit there and rev it in both modes in the driveway...nothing seemed different. I have someone...

Tuner Less Noticable with a Manual or Just Not Working Right - PHP Hydra

Honestly, can't think of why I do...or why they're different right now. I'll work on getting a shot of the stock screen just sitting at idle. Ok, would appreciate that. I wonder if I'm leaking around my up pipes or something... HOWEVER...I'm also thinking I might have a issue with my PCM and...

Tuner Less Noticable with a Manual or Just Not Working Right - PHP Hydra

Well, back to square one I guess. Drove it around today (to go get a new draglink), and I'm back to feeling like there's no difference in the stock vs. 80DD tune. I pulled the ICP connector. It was a little oily on the inside of the connector. However, other than the SEL being on, and a stubly...

Tuner Less Noticable with a Manual or Just Not Working Right - PHP Hydra

Allllllrighty...now for the numbers! First off...I have to say the Torque Pro App is awesome! :clapping: Considering I have all of $4.95 into reading the truck (friend gave me the bluetooth reader he got since he didn't realize it's not Apple compatible), I like it! So numbers...Stock...

Tuner Less Noticable with a Manual or Just Not Working Right - PHP Hydra

Yeah, since I'm not having any issues at all with the truck...I'm not thinking a re-tinning is needed. I did notice that turning on my HID headlights did make the truck stumble for a second :lookaround: I'll make sure to turn those on before starting the truck from now on.

Tuner Less Noticable with a Manual or Just Not Working Right - PHP Hydra

Yeah I'll have to see. As I said its not like I can just hit the go pedal, so actually having to shift might take away some of the perception. I don't hot rod my truck at all in reality...i'm light on the throttle. This truck is essentially just my tow rig. I've had it over two years now and...
