I tow 12-14k twice a month on 4.10's I live in the hills so driving by Tranny temp is mandatory.

    weird find on injectors

The applied voltage was increased for the super duties but there is nothing stopping you from taking a SD IDM and putting it into a OBS or vise versa. Only the PCM is singe-shot or split-shot. The PCM fires the IDM. The IDM does not know it's firing singles or splits.

    weird find on injectors

Yeah, IDM doesn't know it's a single shot or multi-shot injector in there. Injectors are fired by the PCM through the IDM, IDM just powers the coils.

    Stage 2's

For everyday cruising I didn't have a problem with my stock turbo but it was lacking on long hill climbs and hot takeoffs. Could just have your new tunes setup to decrease the output of the injectors so you don't overrun the turbo.

    OBS Chat

The housing can be cleaned somewhat but a lot of that is electrolysis. What happens when water and static electricity meet, lots of pitting. On the board I use simple green and a light brush. Let it completely dry before using it again.

    OBS Chat

Nothing in the cab. After removing the PCM retainer/weather seal (lower picture, black thing around the PCM, two 10mm bolts top and bottom) it should slide freely. If it has a chip pull it first from inside the truck. If it's stuck, like doesn't move at all, the weather shield has probably...

Pull harder. I use a pry bar to push down on the wheel well and about 2/3 the PCMs way out you can rock it up.

Some maybe, but that's still a beautiful truck with or without the ladder poking out of it.

    ABS light comes on

With the key off look under the dash where the glovebox is. There is a red wire connected to a black wire with red stripe. Unplug them from each other and short the Blk/Red wire to chassis ground. Get back in the drivers seat and rotate the key to "run". Count and report any codes. Multiple...

    ABS light comes on

How are you checking codes? A scanner generally can't see the ABS Controller. Best way to check ABS Codes is to short the controller and count flashes.

7.3 idling quiet and low throttle response

Absolutely can be hpo bleeding off. I asked about the drivers battery because I had an electrical issues with my headlights (and using a high ampere wiring harness) in that sometimes the lights would just die away. Mess with the wires a little bit and they would come back. What I found is that...

This wouldn't happen to be the drivers side battery would it?

    Help me understand injectors

As long as I'm understanding this correctly I'd just like to say it a different way SDS. The 160/0 will move the same quantity as the 160/100 but the 160/100 will do it x2 fast.

not sure if this is the place for it...

Simple example: http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/cto/3388061985.html It's a IDI tow truck. It's lived it's life in LA on jammed freeways and heavy start and stop all while idling most of it's life. Finding an ok looking one that runs and has minimal leaks is a steal at $3000. Most anything...

not sure if this is the place for it...

I, by no means, mean the ones a father would give to his kid to tare around in the dirt with. I mean the one the farmer himself can work all week in and drive to church on Sunday in.

not sure if this is the place for it...

On a engine that has been taken care of "high mileage" is in the 500k range. I don't know where you hail from but like this one in Texas a lot of these trucks were bought as farm/ranch/utility trucks in the '90s. Bone stoke and babied from point to point and not raced. This is cheap, ebay has...

    Need Help Guys

There's always the Chevy test too. After the GPR cycles out tap the Alt. housing a couple times with something metal (light hammer or a ratchet) to see if the charging comes back. If it does then the brushes have either swollen or worn past where the brush springs can hold them tight against the...

not sure if this is the place for it...

Don't let them start it before you get there. Feel the engine to see if it is warm first thing. If it is warm they may be hiding a cold start issue. Check the fluids for quantity and quality before start up. Go to start the truck and watch the display. Make sure that all the lights and gauges...
