Nope, I'm the "gonna prove them all wrong" guy in my group of friends, the rest of my friends drive duramaxes and cummins lol. But I love my 6.0 and nothing will change that.
I think my best bet for now is see what happens if I unplug my ICP sensor.
Doesn't the IPR have the control over the oil pressure?
Both sensors are pretty pricey just to "check and see"
Would I be getting codes if either of these have gone bad?
I have an hpop gauge on my pillar, and noticed the truck wasn't fueling hard at wide open so that's the first place I checked.
The odd part is how it happens.. At first it would just be a slight delay before I would hit full hpop pressure, I thought maybe that's just how my street tune was...
Bump.. I'm trying to research the topic more. It seems like when the hpop goes, you get low pressure across the board, I would think a leaky STC fitting would have some similar results.
What would cause a lag in the pressure building? It's inconsistent, but when it does pump up it shoots right...
Lately I've been noticing my hpop isn't reaching full pressure instantly when going WOT.
It starts fine, but I did notice a slight miss lately. I'm pretty sure the miss is injector related, because I've pulled codes for injector 6 and 8 balance.
My truck is an 06 with 225/100 injectors. It...
Picked up another stock trans and swapped in in last night, just need something to get me over until I can afford to get a built one.
The water bottle on top is a sample of the trans fluid that came out. I spent a lot of time flushing the lines out...
Mine was rebuilt with all oem ford pieces when the motor was built.. My truck put down 633/997 and lasted for about 3 years of abuse.. Given my truck is light with 32" tires and 4.30 gears, big tire guys most likely won't last nearly as long.
Also want to mention, although my truck is 600hp, it's a regular cab with 4.30 gears on 33"tires, And a big single, so I'm not seeing real high torque numbers.
Sill pushing it, but a less abusive setup then typical on some of the other builds
I also don't think that half throttle acceleration calls for a snapped input shaft.. I suppose anything is possible.
Please excuse my ignorance, I'm not very good at power flow.. If I burned up a clutch or chewed up a planetary, isn't there a chance I could still get reverse, or manual 1st...
It broke so suddenly that at first I figured I snapped the input shaft.
But wouldn't I hear some noise inside the trans if I did that?
I would imagine if I snapped a shaft it wouldn't move at all?
Yep, I was very close to home so I thought I would try to limp it, well after going half a block and reaching a maximum of 5 mph, I pulled off and called for a tow.
I think I smoked my stock torque converter today.
I was merging into traffic rolling on the throttle when my truck completely free revved to the limiter, I pulled off the road, put it in park to let it sit for a second. Then I shut it down, restarted it and put it in drive... nothing. Tried...
I've heard bar stock to scrape the block. On typical head gasket jobs I use the least abrasive 3M bristle wheel, it's made specifically for cleaning sensitive surfaces
Right, like I said, I know I don't have to, but I like having space. Also it would make coating the underside of the truck much easier, the bed is coming off no matter what to get under coated.
The truck is a regular cab by the way. I was hoping with the help of a few people I could get the...
Heard of a few people doing this, I know this method probably actually takes more time, but Ill be taking my time. The main reason I want to pull the cab is because I want to coat every single part under the truck, especially after the money I'm about to spend
I usually work on cars and I've...
