05 Super Duty Grill conversion

Ditched my old brush guard, now thinking about doing a 05 style front end conversion. Just making sure, a grill off an 05 truck WILL directly fit to my 99 SD right ?

it will fit, just got to trim the bottom of the grill first

yep got to cut about a 1'' off the bottom of it. did it to mine until i changed the whole front end

Just wait until you can do the entire front end conversion. It looks much cleaner than the cut grille.

In other words: if you put the 05'+ bumper on, you don't need to trim the 1" or so off the 05'+ grille like you do if you use the 05'+ grille on the 99-04' bumper.

Go look at Corbins stuck - you have to cut the bottom off but yes it will fit.

Alright i'll look at his truck sometime. I didn't know you had to cut it. I should really just find an 05 bumper and get it painted so it'd look good.

Depending on what you do unless its a hardcore ford fan most people won't even notice it if you did everything or the grill. And you can do the grill so I looks pretty Damn clean. It doesn't have to look like a hack job

Depends on who cuts them down imo i'll take some this weekend when I get some time I have 2 of them one cut well and one not so hot to give you an idea lol

Let the bumpef.down all the way and you wonthave to.cut.as much. Or you can just do it all.

If you lower the bumper, you will have a big gap between the bumper and the headlights.

I was being a wise ass...

I personally am going to keep my ford oem 07 headlights and the rest of my frontend 00. A stock 05 frontend isnt worth upgrading to. The one caveat being a custom mix of parts. A harley insert on a paintmatched grill and chrome bumper looks aight. Just seems like everybody is doing it.
