Just for comparison purposes.... it took 6 months for PSN to reach 1700 registered users. 7-14-2007 it went live - and number 1700 signed up on 1-18-2008.

I do know of one DSM forum that was like this and had very strict rules. Used for tech talk only. Made the WHOLE site very informative instead of weeding through your typical newb stuff.
