Selling truck in sig. 1997 XL model CCLB SRW 4x4 ZF5 7.3, 213k miles. $4,000 firm.
I bought this truck for a project, and just don't have time for it anymore.
Currently sitting in Leander, Tx, just outside of Austin. The truck will run great 1st -3rd gear, but loses power like crazy in 3rd-5th gear. I had a buddy throw a known working idm in it due to throwing 7 of the 8 injector high low side codes, and didn't fix it. Hees supposed to check fuel pressure next. I had valve covers off the truck and checked resistance, all checked out well on the uvch side.
The bad: Motor has LOTS of blowby, and compressor wheel is trashed. And truck isn't running right. The truck will need a motor/rebuild. Before I bought it, the geniuses shot 3 cans of ether in it when the fuel pump died, so big suprise it has alot of blowby. Pretty sure #8 hole is dead.
The cab has a few dents and dings, but not bad for an old work truck. The bed is pretty beat up.
Up pipes recently started leaking
One of the fuel bowl drain valve screw holes is stripped, so it drips a bit of diesel in the valley.
Needs turbo pedestal o rings
Needs new icp sensor
The Good: Lightning seats and center console have been swapped into the front.
Gearhead 6 position chip
5" Diamond Eye exhaust with 3" downpipe
4 16" steel wheels and 4 16" factory alcoas. Tires have good tread but are weather cracked.
Good condition grey dash pad, has all interior panels.
Texas truck it's whole life, so no real rust on it, just the small bit of surface rust when the frame paint is gone.
I installed a complete super duty 7.3 fuel system on it (sd fuel bowl, lines, pump, etc.) Along with a riff raff frx.
8 Ford reman (aliant remans I assume) AA code injectors less than 5k miles ago.
New ford vacuum pump installed about 1,000 miles ago
New ford sd belt tensioner with new ford belt installed with vacuum pump and hydrobooster
Converted to hydroboost setup recently.
I have all the door panels and wiring harness to convert the xl manual windows to xlt. I installed the power guts into the drivers rear door already, and got sent out of town on work, so that is incomplete.
Will post pics later.
