First one is how do you guys remove the TC nuts on a 6.0 5r? It seems to me there is no "good" way that I have found. The best way was a 4' extension and doing them from the front of the truck, but still not ideal in my opinion. Anyone have any tricks?

Next question. Without a life, does anyone have any sane way to lift the cab? I have a 50hp john deere tractor but nothing is coming to mind as a way to jimmy rig it. If youve done it before please let me know, id love to be able to lift the cab on the upcoming stud jobs.

Thanks guys!

Buddy picked the cab off his dads 6.4 with a cherry picker. But usually he does his 6.0 head studs in the cab.

So the process of doing this in the cab, any tips or tricks?

last time i did it i pulled the motor. I have done injectors with the motor in the truck, that is fairly easy one the damn FICM is out of the way.

What needs to be removed to do this cab on??

Do a thread search. I had it done locally cab-off, so I couldn't give the tips but like I stated, I have read about guys doing it cab-on.

I have read the only head bolt that's a pain is the rear left bolt on passenger side head. Some have said to have beaten firewall with a rubber mallet to get that bolt out.

Spend the money buy a lift and make your life easier.
I have it on the list... I am putting myself through school right now as well as doing this on the side, so it wont happen until I graduate.

I have searched and searched and I believe the only logical ways are pulling the cab or pulling the motor.

Doing it with cab and motor intact seems like a lot of jimmy rigging and possible mistakes

I use about the same 4 foot extension and my little 3/8" Bluepoint impact to get them loose.
I also magnetize the socket so the little bastards don't drop inside. (even though you just have to take the plug out and get hem out...)
