2006 6.0 random sensor

Posting this for a friend. His water temp gauge isn't working and there is a plug hanging underneath his coolant reservoir. Can anybody tell me what this is? Thanks

The wires leading into it are purple with blue stripe, white with red, black with white.

Definetly not the filterminder plug. I just looked at mine since I've got my junk torn apart. The filterminder tail is oval shaped.

It appears to be the EBS plug. The sensor is located right next to the outboard side of the valve cover about mid-motor (front to rear). You can't miss it with the air intake out of the way. LOL It's right on the end of the backpressure tube coming up the side of the motor. hth

that the ebp plug. look under the upper rad for the temp sensor.

it screws into the front cover. actually follow the fan plug wiring back. it will lead you to the temp sensor.
