[QUOTE="RGibbs, post: 1550970, member: 33412"] I have a 2007 F250 6.0 and just swapped to a 2016 6.2L F250 steering box. The effort required to turn is significantly less and I have much less play in the steering, but not zero play (probably because the box I used came from a truck with 90K miles). Overall I would say this is a worth while mod, as the red/blue whatever boxes are the smaller box with a questionable track record. I was able to do the whole swap for around 350 dollars. I will be doing a full write up on this and possibly a youtube video, but here are the extra parts I needed: -2011+ steering box- Its still unclear to me if the 2011 box is the same as the 2016+. I seem to remember reading somewhere that in 2016 they got larger. I used one from a 2016 F250 6.2L gas 4wd with 90K miles I found on ebay, but I think they are all the same regardless of engine, just different pitman arms. My box came with a pitman arm, which was slightly longer, but I went ahead and used it because I did not have a puller handy. No issues with that so far. -2011+ Steering Shaft- Got this on ebay as well. This needs to be both the intermediate shaft and the lower shaft (they are 2 different parts but often sold together) -2011+ mounting bolts (3)- This was the hardest part for me to find at a reasonable price. The ford dealership wanted 30 dollars per bolt, which I was not willing to pay. I ended up finding new old stock on ebay which was a pack of 4 for 40 dollars. I tried to find a bolt at fastenal but could not find one with the correct dimensions. Those are all the extra parts I needed. This did require several mods to make work: -Slightly bending the power steering lines -re routing the lines -drilling out the frame for the larger bolt (I used a 5/8" drill bit) -removing and replacing firewall grommets from both steering shafts -some grinding on the box itself to clear the sway bar mount -cutting down the sway bar mount bolt to clear the box.
