Hi,

6.7 engine of my 2011 truck has failed and dealer advised that new engine is needed. Of corset, this is a $20k bill if this is done at dealer shop since the engine is two and half months after 5 years.

However there is a 6.7 engine from a 2015 truck is listed on market next town to mine. I believe this is a second generation 6.7 powerstroke with larger single compressor turbo, larger injectors and some different running parameters. It would save almost half if this engine can be installed into my truck by local non-dealer shop.

Since the 2015 trucks have PCM (tBC3A-12A650-APA) to run this 2nd generation 6.7 power stroke.

I am wondering if this engine will work with my PCM (BC3A-12A650-ETA) of my 2011 truck??? If not, could I ask dealer to program PCM to run the new engine?

much thanks in advance.....

looks like should find 11- 14 one instead of 2015 to avoid tuning.

Thanks powerstroke man

Jared I believe from Midwest (Breaking Habits on
here) did this swap on a regular cab he owned. Hopefully he'll chime in.

Just do it and tune it. Use midwest for tuning. Just get a simple tow tune with no emissions and controls for 15 turbo and pump swap and it will be a real simple ordeal.

Don't look back. It will be the best decision you have ever made.
