what's wrong with 100mph??? just a good cruising speed
I agree, on the cooler plugging up. Back when mine plugged up it was similar (but at slower speeds lol) at 80MPH I could see a 25+ degree delta oil hotter than coolant, and had to drop speeds down to 65mph to maintain about a 10° delta.
Coolant flow through the oil cooler gets stopped up, so coolant temp stays relatively the same, but oil temp starts to rise as there is little to no heat transfer, THEN if you haven't blocked off the EGR cooler you might rupture the EGR cooler. The EGR cooler is downstream of the oil cooler, so a blockage at the oil cooler results in less coolant inside the EGR cooler and thus less coolant to make the heat transfer from hot exhaust gasses to coolant, and the little coolant inside the EGR cooler can flash boil and rupture the cooler. This is why Ford made it a policy whenever an EGR cooler was replaced, the oil cooler was also replaced.
