I've been running a 38r I got from clay for about 4-5 months. Before installing I noticed the shaft seemed looser than other BB turbos I've installed. In the last week I've noticed a metal on metal screach and today I checked it out. One blade on the wheel is discolored.there are no visual marks any were else that I can see.
Is it possible I got a bad turbo? I have a billet wheel I want to install but I'm going to hold off until I figure this out

If you accidentally swapped the CAC hose clamps on the wrong sides of the intercooler a squeal can develope.
Food for thought

One clamp is slightly larger than the other and if swapped a small boost leak can develope due to insufficient clamping force

Don't ask how I know. Lol back in my younger days approximately 14 years ago I ran into one doing something similar. It is even more noticeable when you open the rear sliding glass
