[QUOTE="TyCorr, post: 61632, member: 1451"] Yeah, Im not trying to tell you that its going to turn your truck into a fire breathing dragon. Not at all. With tuning and a 38r your truck will be about 80hp ahead of stock. My impression of it is that it lights ALOT faster than the stocker and is more responsive at any point in the rpm range. If you have a tuner that runs the stock inj's wide open in the hot tune it'll clean that extra fuel up...there will be literally no smoke or haze. I had a 100hp chip in my truck for years with a stock turbo and it was quite a bit more power over stock. My PHP tunes and a stock turbo were wayyy more powerful though or at least better at utilizing the stock components to produce power/speed. I can only speak for myself but with a 140hp tune the truck was fairly smoky except from 1800-2300 rpms. Three days after I switched tuning I installed a 38r and an open element filter. My stocker was good too as I just rebuilt in April of 2010. The 38r is a great option even on a stock truck, imo. Like Joe, csipsd, said its a good choice for up to stage II sticks as well. Esp, with the 1.15 housing. Im not delusional about what a 38r is. But its a great turbo as a first step away from the stocker and will keep you busy for quite a while at which point you can ditch it for a large single or keep it and add another large, atmospheric first stage charger and have a set of compounds.
