6.0 just revs no go

Have a friend that has a 6.0 he puts it into drive and all it does is rev doesn't go. He then puts it in reverse and he pushes the throttle down and it doesn't even rev up sometimes. Anybody else have this problem it does have a built trans

He has the same transmission as you and 10 bazzilion other trucks
