hey guys just bought a 2012 6.7l today it came deleted and with a Spartan tuner. coming from the duramax to this ford we all know how poor the Allison trans is after stock. running a small tune on this transmission right now just curious how much room i have to play before i start tearing stuff up. also curious pros and cons of this Spartan tuner haven't found much to read on the tuner. i see a lot of guys are running the mini max just curious how comparable this is to the h&s I guess to sum it all up. asking what you guys have run into with and who's tried this stuff. and what your personal experience was with this stuff.

these trans are solid to 700 , so far. not sure how long they will live over 700 , there just aren't too many at that power too find out. tune only , as long as the trans tuning is right it should be just fine for a very long time.

The tranny is very tough, it will handle everything you can throw at it. They Ford transmission is a very tough unit.

Spartan is a good product, they actually tune the transmission for the specific hp tune.

The reason you see lots of H&S is sometimes Spartan is slow on meeting demand.

If you have the 200hp war hammer tune, try it. That one is my favorite.

Part of the popularity with h&s units is their MCC software which let's you or a professional tuner create unique tunes for personal preferences, mechanical upgrades, etc. another plus is that it work across all three diesel truck platforms, within reason, where as spartan is ford specific. It's also limited to their tuning only, not that it's a bad thing at all!

Call them ask for Mick and have him build you a new tune to solve the rough shifting. He did that on my 11 and way way better.

Just YouTube H&S 6.7 breaking point. Pretty sure they got to 800-900 hp spraying on stock trans before it slipped. Hard to recal I didn't fully watch it so correct me if I'm wrong.

But tune only you shouldn't worry about the trans

a dyno run is also a lot easier on a trans than day in and day out driving

Mine stocker is still holding 900hp of daily driving... Not sure how much is left in it though.
