600hp 5 speed ?'s

Ok guys I have a question about gear ratios. My 96 is a 5 speed with 4.10 gears on 33s and ive always hated the high rpms it turns cruising at 60+ mph but I never changed the gears because i didn't wanna lose any low end power but now that I'm running 350/200s with a s475 I don't think I will ever feel the lose of low end and if anything it might help because the gears would be longer(less shifting and loosing boost).

What are yalls opinions about this and would you do a 3.73 or 3.55 gear? Thanks for any advice

Kenny, I got a buddy here in Greenville that just took his 3.73's out of his excursion. I don't see why they wouldn't work for you.

I would have done the 3.73's even with your old setup. You dont loose enough low end to make that much of a difference. IMO.

I plan on throwing 35s on to compensate for my 4.10s, Im in the same boat as you without the fuel and air.

3.55 was a factory option. I see no reason it would not work fine.

I to ran a 5 speed with 4.10's and 33's. Highway driving gave worse mileage than city driving. Setting the cruise at 3000RPMs would give me a best of 10.5MPG.

But now i run 5.38's with 46's........

That truck wont have ANY low end power with a s475 no matter what gearing

:whs:. Agreed. I was running 300/200 with a s471, 3.55's and 35's. Now i had a zf6 but same differnce. You might as well forget about anything below 2000 rpms with that charger.

It may not have much boost, but it doesnt exactly need boost for low end power.
