Neither one, really. More OBDII than OBDI. A cheap scanner will do you no good. Parts store scanners are no help. You need a good scanner. Diesels were not required to adhere to the OBD rules back than.

AE or above for a real scanner, I have heard of some apps that will work.

Lol, if only you would've spent the 100 bucks in orings and install the stock injectors back....

i was a newb at the time.. ford did that... 15k later, failed again. said f-it and got what i have now.
