7.3L engine swap

Hey everybody, Wayne from Canada here. I have a 1996 F-250 with a 351 and 5 speed manual with in it, and a 1998 E-350 Van with a 7.3L Diesel automatic. The van is rusting away the the motor is great. How difficult a job is it to swap the 7.3 into my pickup. How long of a job would this be for a experienced mechanic, What extras would I need, motor mounts etc, and should I keep the standard tranny or swap in the automatic.
I know there are probably a thousand variables but any help would be great. Thanks

Welcome to the site you need to do alot of researching before you jump in. The 5 speed off the 351 won't bolt to the 7.3 but you can usually sell those small block Zf5s for top dollar well atleast down here in the states. If the trucks 4wd you will have to get a trans for a 4x4 7.3. Different trans cross member if you end up going automatic. all computer electronics
