I had my heads sent out resurfaced, seats ground and pressure/crack checked. I measured 1.87 without the seal and I'm looking for 1.75-1.76 installed. My seals measure .03, does it seem off that I'd need 3 .030 shims?

That doesn't seem too off if the heads were worked on. I think i went with 1.745 installed height, and used only a 0.060" shim. This was on the new engine which had 120k miles on it, and I believe around 0.005" of "wear"(valves sunk into the heads). Been a while since i did all the work, and i can't find my notes, so its hard to remember all the specifics.
