my 7.3 was like that. only blew cold at higher rpms, just cruising and it would be warm most of the time. shop took shim out of ac compressor clutch and it was good to go.

it could also be low pressure switch. You can pull it out and jump it and see if compressor kicks on

At least yours is blowing cold! Mine is only cold when its about 70-85 out anything else might as well have the windows down. Plus I'm to lazy to actually use our machine to charge it back up.

it could be low on freon makin the compressor kick on and off less frequently, jus watch it and see wut it does, could be a pressure switch too or maybe an orifice filter or dryer, ac can be hard to diagnose sometimes, had a 2010 duramax doin this last friday and all i did was a hvac module recalibration with the scan tool

also could be overcharged too, especially if its gettin hotter outside it will up the high side pressure a lil but once it gets too high it will trip the high limit switch shutting the compressor down... u need to put a set of gauges on it and see wut its doin

its hard to figure out with out checking lines and seeing if there is any build up or etc, def hook a set of gauges up to it and see what its doing and make sure to account for the temp when you check them

Just went through the same thing on my 05, and its going to be tough to diagnose without the right tools and gauges. In my case, the charge was good, no obstructions in the lines (looked at pressures before and after components), compressor was good, etc, etc. Realized that fan speed was less than desired/commanded and replaced the fan clutch. Coldest my A/C has been in 3 years. FYI, this wasn't something I tackled in my driveway (took it to a trusted shop).

I had a similar issue on mine last yr and it ended up being the compressor clutch. Fun thing about 6.0 ac is the compressor is located on the bottom left (when facing truck) of the motor so they just replaced the entire compressor.
