Has anyone here successfully performed a service bleed with AE on an 03/04 6.0 super duty? I replaced both of the rear brake hoses on my 04 and have tried in vain to bleed all four corners out so I'm assuming the abs accumulator now has air in it. When I try to use the service bleed function on AE, it gives an error "Test failed: The hardware interface has failed in transmission of the request. The hardware interface may be offline." It does this whether the truck is running or not. I have also went around checking all electrical connectors related to the abs system.

Anyone else experienced this? My AE is up to date and the firmware on the proline connector is the newest available. If no advice on that, then possibly another way to get air out of the abs system since there doesn't appear to be any the last 4 times I bled the system at all four corners.

any discussion on this has always come to the resolve that this does't apply to this truck
I have not had to mess with mine however I had my brakes flushed and blead at Stricktly but I do not see any special circumstances on this sytem over any other Hydroboost I have bleed and the ABS is only wheel speed sensors no hydraulic input

I would have to question your bleeding practice ?

So does that mean the abs accumulator won't take in air if the system is opened for an extended length of time and/or reservoir ran empty? Or does it mean there is some other way to bleed the system I'm not aware of? The last question I would have is "am I simply not bleeding the brakes correctly?"

edit: Also I realize in my first post that I said 03/04 when it would really only be a question about 04's since the 03's didn't have can addressing that I know of.

edit2: I just saw your edit which corresponds to my last question.

my experience with the hydro boost is on GM (should be the same and has the cartridge )but it was straight forward just like a typical non hydro boost unit
so this is why I think you may just have a bleeding issue
I either use the replacement 1 man bleeder fittings or a 1 man bleeder bottle or better yet a Mighty Vac

I believe you're probably right. I just didn't really understand how the abs works on this truck so that's why I was asking about it. I do need to get some sort of one person bleeding tool. My helper might not be doing what I tell them to...

Did all the fluid drain out of the master cylinder? If so you might want to bleed the master cylinder before doing the calipers.

Yeah, it did go empty while I was replacing the rear hoses and calipers. So I guess I'll be doing that tomorrow too. Not sure why that didn't occur to me... Oh well. :fustrate:
