Well a couple weeks ago I had a accident a dude in a mustang decided that on a 45 mph road he was going to slam on his breaks on a green light and turn left in a straight only lane rather than the turning lane well needless to say he didn't make that turn he went straight when I slammed into him at 30-35 mph by the time I hit him I didn't have much time to slow down well his trunk is now in his back seat my truck has a little ding in the bumper and a broken fog light idk how thats all that happend to my truck but i was happy and the accident was rendered his fault. My question is do our air bags suck or do you have to be going a certain speed? cause I was surprised the air bags didn't go off, and my buddy got hit head on last year in his 06 f-350 6.0 and his truck got totaled but his air bags didn't go off either.

More than likely the deceleration (stopping) criteria was below the threshold for the system to require airbag activation. I'd love to know all the criteria the PCM uses but it can't be too difficult to figure out the basics. ABS input, speedo input, brake pedal, gas pedal, and a few others I'm sure.
