Alternator question

My 06 has dual alternators. I'm not having any issues, I am just curious if I would benefit from changing my setup to one high-output alternator? Do both of my current alt.'s both work equally or does one do most of the work and the other just helps when needed? I have no idea how this setup is designed to work so any info is appreciated.

i dont know the answer... but I took a 200 amp one off of a dual alt set up... and it didnt work too well in my truck... it put out 14.3-14.5 to the batteries... but if i went WOT, it would kinda surge and all of my gauges would reset... I put a 140 amp one on and all is cool. I have several dual setups that I am getting ready to sell...
