I doubt many people want to be the guinea pig for something like this. I don't think anyone here as tired it.

:whs:, It will not work, I have seen the consequences of not using the proper def fluid and it will void the warranty and mess with the operation of the system. Not worth the risk on voiding a warranty on a 60k truck.

I think it dies actually work but ford figured it how to measure the specific gravity of the fluid to tell what is in the tank

DEF fluid is mostly water and the rest is urea. The urea is what converts the NOx, water by itself will not work, though if you put just water in the system won't be hurt.

Our Freightliner Cascadias have a sensor to tell if there is something other than DEF fluid in the system or if the DEF is the wrong concentration. You contaminate the system with something else, the whole system gets replaced. Read $$$.

DEF goes in that tank, nothing else.
