What are your alls average EGT's while running a 38r and 238/80's? Currently running 65-70 mph they are sitting at 800-850. Before I put in the injectors and 35 inch tires they would sit at 650-700 with a superchips. Currently running DP tuning and can hit peg my 1600* egt gauge in a 1/4 mile. Boost is 35 psi. is this a tuning issue or just a nature of the beast?:cursing:

Also, I have a water meth system just running straight water. With a 550cc nozzle i cant even tell a difference, not even making a dent. What nozzle size is everyone running?:biggun:

I'd say tuning issue or you have a boost or exhaust leak. On matts tunes with 250s I haven't seen over 1400 no matter what i do.

yeah its always been that way even before injectors, towing a 12k boat in florida i have to let out of it over overpasses cuz i can go over 1200. they sit at like 1050-1100 while on the flat at 65-68. Boost sits around 5-7 psi

Your running hot. I run around that degree with my setup in my hot tune.

I would check for a boost or exhaust leak. If its not leaking I'd get some tuning adjustments made.

i dont see any oil leaking out around the IC boots, i have the diesel site ones which tells me i should leak boost due to the CCV still being stock. Have bellowed up pipes so it isnt the exhaust leaking unless its the manifolds, which right now i dont really see any soot marks to speak of. I mean this is something he should be able to take care of right? I've been wanting to try some other tunes but Im locked into DP's because of the chip they run.

EGT's are high for sure.

Cruising, mine run 600* @ 60 mph, 700* @ 70 mph, etc...

In my 5th setting on my chip, If I hold my foot to the floor, I will see 1250*-1300* by the time I hit 80 mph. 6th setting is a different story. :evil

Get some new tunes!

I run about 650-750 crusing at 60... At 75 I am up to about 800*.

Your issue sounds like a boost leak or tuning, but without being in the seat it is hard to say.

I run about 750 degrees 7-8lbs boost @ 70mph empty
About 1300 degrees is what I'll see max if I hammer the 80 tune.

Today at 68MPH which is just below 2k RPM, 0-2lbs of boost one bank was 740* the other said just shy of 700*
This is in a very hot file. I always thought mine ran hot, you guys made me feel better about my shatbox lol. I can bury 1700* in that tune in a few seconds :p

Get your tunes adjusted, after your disatisfied try another tuner.

As everyone else has said you've got leak(s) somewhere or a tuning issue..

Seems every high EGT thread I read based on tuning is always related to DP tuner. Do they run more timing than most or something?

OP, setup a pressure leak fitting in the intake where the airfilter is attached, run about 20-25 psi (regulated) through it and feel around . It would seem that a good running truck on 238s and a 38R would be over 40psi. Verify fuel pressure also (and hows your compression?). As others have said, contact DP and have them review your files.

550 nozzle on water should give you a difference, move up to the 725 nozzle and verify its activation.

Agree with fuel pressure or boost leak, w/g opening way too early ?

I know its not exactly what your looking for, but with my full force 210/100's and php tuning is see 5-6lbs of boost and 6-700 degrees traveling 75mph.

With 250/200's I'm sitting at about 550-600 cruising at 65 and about a hundred degrees higher cruising at 70-75...

hate to tell you but if youre running 7-8 psi boost cruising you have an issue somewhere....that 38r should be running around 5psi or less at cruising... How's your MPG? If I had to guess you're running that hot and that much boost because you have something sticking putting more load on the engine...that or your tunes are fubar'd and you're running like 5 ms of PW with a ton of timing...
