Best scanner for 6.0?

I'm slowy leanring about the 6.0's and I was told that with the right scanner, it can really help pinpoint issues and troubleshoot.

What kind of scanner is the best to use?
I have AE for my 7.3 and thought about upgrading for the 6.0.
But if there are others out there better, please let me know your opinions.

AE is a very useful tool and imo is the best bang for your buck. A professional grade scanner is going to be much more money and while it will do more, ae will do 98% of what most people need.

You have an A/E do you have the ford bundle?
if not get it
if you do already have the ford bundle pay to upgrade to the latest version if you don't already have it
it can do a lot more specially with injectors

Ford Integrated Diagnostic Software. Basically their equivellant to a Tech II

It costs alot more. But it also does alot more than AE

Yeah the IDS will cost you $1500-$4000 depending on if you can find one for a steal on ebay or not. If all you do is Fords then the IDS is the way to go for sure.

Be carefull They show the Pirate units on their site and you can't tell them apart so buy from a reputable place

A/E is having the same theft issue the Newest update requires a security dongle to make it work

Your AE will read the same values on 6.0's as 7.3's. You can run a few more Onboard Tests on 6.0's as well.

Only if he got the enhanced bundle with the upgraded dongle.
