Block heater issues

So, I've been using my block heater a lot lately so my truck will actually start. Randomly the other day I had it plugged in at my buddy's place, all good, came back to my apartment, went to plug it in and it popped the gfci outlet. Same outlet and same ext cord I have been using for weeks. No moisture in connections on either end. Is this most likely just a bad block heater cord? Any way I can test?

Water is in the cord. At least that's always my issue... I have a back-up cord that I leave inside to dry out. After a couple days inside it's all dried out and working fine...

Mine does the same thing... But it'll work fine if I use a different outlet, I think my outlet is just temperamental lol

I had a bad plug on the cord once, it started by being warm at the block heater plug end.
Then it would blow the breaker so i just cut it off and put a new plug on.

Disconnect the cord from the heater element. Clean the connections between the element and the cord. Use a dielectric grease when you connect them together after the cleaning.

Cord to with a wire brush, And also wire brushed heater element prongs. Haven't had an issue since.
