I have a 2011 im getting ready to do the block off plates on. I have heard that some folks are snapping one of the bolts. The ones that snapped are they doing the install when the truck is hot or after it has cooled off some? I wouldnt have a clue what to do if one of my bolts broke.
thanks,

I had one bolt that rounded off but I didn't snap it had to get a smaller socket pounded onto it with a hammer and it was cold. Ambient temperature so like 50 degrees or so. All the bolts came out easily except for that one.

I ran my truck for 5 mins or so then took the bolts out, no breakage or rounding, but I felt like they were close to breaking haha mostly because I read so much about them breaking.

Used a 1/4 drive ratchet so I couldn't go crazy on them.

Truck had about 35000km on it.

Take a punch and hammer, give each bolt head a tap. Than lightly try to tighten, than loosen the bolts. Also wait till the engine is cool. The bolts and thread holes will expand at a different ratw.
