Bought 05 6.0 help please

I recently bought a 05 with intake, straight 4" exhaust egr delete and I believe head studs(I plan on the blue spring upgrade asap). It had a sct badge and compared to all the other 6.0s I drove, the guy must have left a tune loaded into it. Now I am planning on purchasing the sct programmer for the big variety of tunes as I will be using this truck as a daily driver and towing a lot. My question is this, I have a superchips 1840 from my 6.4L I am no longer using after getting a custom tune done from a local shop.. If I plug it into the 6.0 when it saves the stock file it will be whatever tune is on the truck now correct? Then I can use the tow tune from the superchips programmer temporarily until I get the Sct programmer without damaging my trans to bad. Please let me know if I am correct or not and any other advice/help would be appreciated. Thanks

edit*- also wondering if the sct programmer or livewire will be able to tell me what this tune is if left on truck.
