Hey y'all just bought my first powerstroke this weekend!!! It's an 05 regular cab, ZF6 manual, 8" lift, new head gaskets, new arp head studs, new oil cooler, egr delete, and new aftermarket coolant filter and dual 6" stacks. I have an sct handheld tuner for it but it's not installed currently. I was just wondering if there are any other issues I should address for reliability? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Looks like a reliable setup already. Other than when you add that sct you might need a better clutch to hold the power.

Haha thanks guys. I plan on a southbend clutch soon. It only has 116k on her and the body is almost perfect except tailgate and needing bigger tires. Ran me $10,500

Wow awesome deal bro! Congrats

Idk what it is with ford owners but all three of my SD's had tailgate damage from the PO. Lol

Put some Rev-X in there and sounds like you should be good to go. :D

Congrats on the truck! I wish I had the ZF6 in mine. Sounds like you have a bullet proof set up already but I agree with Bretferd, I'd upgrade your clutch if it hasn't been already.

Sweet truck and as posted earlier new ford filters and oil would be good that way you know it's done right. Post some pics of the truck would love to see it! Always love a good single cab

I'm looking to upgrade my turbo and injectors so I am currently saving up for them. I like the turbo on my truck but I want more whistle. My buddy has an 03 turbo I can get for cheap, is there any real difference between the 03 and 05 turbo performance wise? I know the 03 has more vanes but does that effect performance? Sorry I'm kinda new to the 6.0 turbos.

vane count is the same in all turbos, 9 vanes. The turbine wheels are different between years and whether or not the turbo was remanufactured. All 03 original turbine wheels are larger and are 10 blade. 04 + are 13 blade.

Oh ok gotcha thanks man. Eventually when I get the truck on the road I plan to take it down to Maryland performance diesel since I think they are the closest to me and I've heard good things.
