My friends 6.0 is down and we can't figure out what's wrong with it. Friday, the batteries went dead. We charged them and It starts up fine. Saturday it takes a while to crank but it starts up eventually. He drives about 15 mikes and the truck dies and will not start up at all... He just has an SCT and a straight pipe for mods, nothing else. What could be wrong with it? Need sole help ok this one...

need to put a good scanner on the truck and see what is going on. sounds like a ficm or a high pressure oil issue to me... but like i said, it needs a scanner to really know what is going on

We hooked one up. It said it was the TPS, now when we hook it up it won't read anything. I figured it was that in the first place but I dunno

It can't be one of those auto zone code readers or anything like that. You need to use auto enginuity or a scan tool that can monitor real data real time. Check for "FICM sync", ICP while cranking and FICM voltage. Most likely it's one of those things. Hopefully someone else will chime in with other info. It's been while since I had a 6.0 in the driveway! But....it sounds like a high pressure oil issue to me considering it takes long to start and then die a few minutes later when the oil is hot. Like an stc fitting or branch tube possibly.

Simplest way without a scanner...

When you're cranking are you getting any smoke out of the exhaust?
