I have been tossing around the ideal of buying a scsb 6.0 150k for 4k with blown head gasket and doesn't run but cranks over. My plan would be to repair head gaskets and stud it. I thought maybe it had hpop lines leaking causeing it not to start or maby a sensor do think I'd be better off not even bothering with it or fixing it . Don't know any thing more untill I look at it in person it's a good little drive. What y'all think

Trucks in pretty good shape minus rust but I'm not worried about that. It a been 2 weeks since Iv been in contact with him but If he still has it bye tax return I'd love to have a project I'm just worried the motor being trashed

I picked up an 03 that supposedly had injector problems for $3500 with 180k and I felt like I over paid for it. And it wasn't rusted out like that one. I'd offer less than 4k

How bad is the rust underneath the truck? A bed can easily be swapped on if that's the only rust

From what I can see in the pics, the frame looks clean. You'd be looking at around $1200 for a short bed in primer. Also noticed the rear bumper is tweaked. Then add for paint for the bed. Plus however much $$$ for the engine work. Could be something simple stupid. $4k is waaaayyyyy too much.

Well I have a body guy that does great work for cheap and I do know were I can get a 2011+ bed . And I was going to do all the motor work my self minus machine work I honestly didn't think if I got him down to 3000-3200 wouldn't be to bad unless the motor was toast but I figured it was an hpop leak somewhere causing it not to start but I guess there are plenty of other things that could be wrong

I could always do a compression test are there any recommendations on what to look for if I decide to look at it? It does have a clean title ,no other rust and bumpers are cheap

Do you have any kind of scanner you could take with you to monitor a few things while you crank it?
