Will a camshaft out of a 96 engine work in a 2002? I know the 96 will have an extra lobe for the fuel pump but other then that are they the same?

It's good to weld the cam gear on the shaft

I will be doing that as well. What's the best way to put the cam gear on if it's been taken off? Heat it in an oven and throw it on?
