checking for hpop leaks

do you have to command the ipr closed wen you put air to the system to try and find a leak? or wuts the best way to find a leak i guess is wut i should be asking

Most just hook up a 12V external source to fully close it, I think with software you can only command it to 85% max.

it only builds 245 psi cranking for a while, replaced the hpop, still same deal, however the screen on the ipr was busted, so im replacing that as well, hopefully it will start and run. as of now it wont run at all

Yeah, it seems more often than not when the HPOP needs replacement, the IPR is usually needing it at the same time.

250 psi cranking sounds like a stuck open IPR or dummy plug leak.

Put 100# air to the HPO system using your ICP sensor hole in the pass side oil rail. Soon you will push all of the oil out through the IPR and start hearing air. You can feel the air venting out of the crankcase.

Now turn the key to "ON" and the IPR will go to 15% DC and 100 psi air should not blow over the IPR. The air that you hear now will be your leak. If you command the IPR to 80% and this stops the air, your IPR is questionable. An IPR at 15% should not relieve anything under 600#.

If you are testing with 1000# nitrogen or something, then command the IPR to a high percentage.
