Converter or clutch slip

Been beating the living hell out of my truck for about 7k miles now on vivs track file. When I'm wide open and make the 3-5 shift it holds for a second then slips (like the converter isn't locked) then will grab again and go on its way. Is there anyway to tell if its the converter or clutch pack?

Converter does shudder until trans is up to temp.

What do your rpm's do when this is happening?

They kinda flare up a little. It makes the 3-5 shift then holds locked for a second then slips and holds steady around 3k for a couple seconds then grabs and continues to climb till it shifts.

How much in rpm gain do you see during this slip?

Id say about 600. I'll get a video when I can. It still is just as fast it just makes my lock up tune not feel like a lock up tune.

It could be detecting slip and unlocking the converter then locking it back.

Bumping this back up. Is there anyway to monitor converter rpm vs engine rpm on a scangauge?

What physically holds the clutches together? New converter and it's still doing it. It's intermittent though so I think the clutches can be saved if I figure it out.

More line pressure?

Ironic you're running her track file....I have recently started having the very same issue on the same file...

I was actually talking to a buddy about it earlier this evening..

This is NOT the first time I've had issues with her shifting.

It almost feels like the tc locks, then unlocks, then locks again.

I can change tunes and it doesn't happen
