So I've been out of the diesel game for about 2 years (big mistake). Last Monday I picked up a 2001 F350 cc dually with 182000 miles. So far the trucks been great to me, until today.

When I got home and parked the truck, I heard a trickle. There's a steady stream of coolant coming out from behind the crankshaft pulley. It continued to leak for about 20-30 minutes and was about a half gallon. I searched on here and everything says to check the waterpump. Its bone dry around the pump.

How big of a project is this and what am I getting into?

if it is the water pump then it is more than likely coming out of the weep hole and running down behind the damper.. couple hour job to swap it out.
