2006 ford 6.0, The Coolant level goes way down when up to temp. Crack the cap and it comes right back up. Doenst loose any coolant. Never had it push coolant out. Engine runs normal temp and doesnt over heat. The coolant level goes right down into the lower degas hose.

Anyone ran into this before? Only mods are EGR D elete and Sinister Coolant filter kit.

Also the Heater works fine. My wife has an 06 aswell just egr D elete, and it does not fluctuate the coolant level like mine does??

It's expansion... As the engine heats all the pressure rises into empty space, the degas bottle, pushing coolant down. Also take in the fact your hoses are swelling up, something has to take up the space and what better than coolant!

But you may be having a little too much pressure in there. IE bad cap or a head gasket issue.

Yeah it will go up and down as said. Don't worry about it until your engine is covered by it lol.
