COOLANT?????????

A friend is installing a sinister coolant filter. he is going to flush the ford coolant and wants to replace it with anything but ford coolant. What is the best coolant he can use? An auto parts dealer says any long life coolant will work.
Is there any truth to this?

If it were me I would put the filter on and run the filter for around 10k and then do the flush to try and eliminate the chances of the flush plugging the oil cooler.

There is nothing wrong with Motocraft Gold if you keep up with maintanence.

Some guys like CAT ELC.

You're on the right track with the coolant filter. It doesn't matter what coolant you use, if you don't get the sediment out of the coolant system, you're going to have oil cooler problems.

Any ELC coolant will be best. Delo ELC seems to be what most people say are the best. It is dang hard to find though. I have been searching around for about a month to find it. Lots of places carry delo oil but none carry the coolant and they say they cant order it either.

Quick question i just got an 07 f250 harley davidson 6.0 it has. 2 yrs left on warranty drive train only has 40 k can i put the sinister coolant filter on without voiding warranty

Call the dealer and ask them.....be sure to explain that its a bypass filter so it won't restrict flow if it plugs, I don't see why they would not allow it....just dont tell them it enhances performance.......lol
