Cracked up-pipe?

Loss of low end power and it looks like a damn coal train 24-7. The slightest acceleration and it blows a good amount of black smoke.

Smoke also comes out from that area. Cant tell exactly where the smoke is coming from but it pours up from the firewall and down under passenger side of truck.

You should be able stick your hand up in there so you can feel if the up pipe is leaking. Most likely that's what you've got going.

Happened to the 450 earlier this year. was loosing power over the course of a day and then she broke all the way out, and then I had next to no power... and a bunch of black soot under the rear of the engine... Cracked along the welds of the EGR provision.

Once repair be sure to clean your air filter if you have a washable cold air intake filter. All that smoke under the hood will clog a filter with soot in a hurry.

Sure man. This is my first time with a 6.4. I was actually going to look for a write up of cab removal. I've ready you don't need to disconnect a/c because it only has to come up a few inches.

So you aren't going to pull it all the way up? Just enough to get access to the up pipes?

To be honest ill most likely pull it all the way up and just recharge the a/c.

Mine rolls coal at 1500 rpm too. Haha might be my problem also? Does it have a turbo "squeal" at high boost?
