I have a lifted 2013 F350 lariat and I have the death wobble for about 2 months now. I took it to 4Wheel Parts and they gave me a price of $1400 to replace the Track bar with a factory one at that..... They said I need a new tie rod, and also a new drag link. I replaced the track with a BDDiesel adjustable track bar and still have the DW, I added Pro Comp dual steering stabilizers and I still have the DW. My next step is to replace the drag link and see what happens because the DW is getting out of hand and I don't want to pay that outrageous price for something I really don't know about. Looking to see if anyone has any input on what I should do or any other tips on what it might be.

I'm kind of new to this and I don't even know what the track rod joint is. Is it the joint on the passenger side that holds the track bar in place?

This is what it looks like. Probably should get under it. Have someone turn the steering wheel and watch everything. I wouldn't just change it out just for the hell of it until you get it figured out.

The trac bar itself does not need to be replaced. I hope the shop replaced the bushing.

If the bushing was worn, the ball joint probably is as well. The procedure is not difficult; rent a ball joint press from an auto parts store.

You need to replace the tie rod end(s) that require replacement. That alone may be the solution.

Why did you install a steering stabilizer before replacing all worn parts? Masking the symptoms is not a solution.

Before anything else what kind of tires do you have??? I just got rid of the death wobble on my 2012 lariat. I first started off replacing the track bar and drag link. Drove it and still had it. Dealer couldn't figure it out. My ball joints were still good. I was then asked about my tires on here by someone. Told them what I had and was told to replace my tires. We then put some stock 17s drove the hell out of it and no death wobble. I ended up buying some 35×12.50 r20 nittos and been good since then.

Just my 2 cents,I have changed the track bar joint on my '11 f-450 with 302,xx miles on it for the 4th time today.I know when its worn out ,when I start getting the death wobble. Also changed the steering stabilizer, all ford parts, sincethey have 2 yr unlimited miles warranty,I bought the new parts once!,and bring them the worn out parts, and they replace,if within the 2 yr time frame.I drive alot,as the miles show.I also replaced the Ball joints once.

I read in some forums that some people purchased steering stabilizers and that got rid of the problem. I was just trying different things 1 step at a time to see if it would rid the problem.

Dual steering stabilizers just mask the issue.

With the truck off. Have someone inside the truck move the steering wheel left to right fast. Go under the truck and check for ANY movement in any of the joints. Any movement equals bad part.

Right now I have 37x12.50 r 20 Nittos and they are fairly new, probably around 80% tread left on them. I confused about why would the brand of tire cause the death wobble? I could see if they weren't balanced right or something of that sort but not the brand...:fustrate:

Just a little update, I called 4wheelparts back and ask them what exactly do I need so I could purchase them myself and do it on my own. Basically he told me the whole front end (Track Bar, Drag Link, Tie Rod ends), I got fustrated trying to figure out these parts being that I don't know that much to about it to get the right parts I'm going to go ahead and let them do the work. Cost me right at $800 including installation and all parts are MOOG minus the track bar since I already installed one from BDDeiselperformcance.com so I'm going to see what happens with this and hopefully it fixes the problem. :fustrate:
