Dies in the rain

2002 7.3 cclb srw bone stock with 178k. Filled the tank this morning from the only station I have ever taken it to.

Drove about 20 miles in the rain tonight. Truck dies without warning. The only way it will restart is if all the electronics are shut off. Refire the truck and everything is fine until I turn on the wipers, fan, turn signal, etc.

This is my first ford and my first diesel. I've had the truck about two months. I'm an electrical idiot and the first to admit it. Ideas?

pretty common
windshield leak to GEM module and other electronics

also some have had issues with wiper motor a camshaft sensor interference IIRC

The other possibility is the idm.
