So today I was ready to lift the motor guess the motor wasn't ready it snapped a 3/8" grade 70 chain like it was a dog chain also for anyone who has pulled this motor out of the E series do I need to remove the pan and the sump it doesn't look as if there will be enough room to clear the cross member otherwise

I assume you are using just a normal engine crane.. it that respect, yea you have to remove pan... We have a Powerstroke lifting bracket just for 6.0 and 7.3... it allows me to tilt the motor over the hump and install a long block with no issue....

incase someone wants to build one....

Yea only other simplified way islike above, lift body... But most e series I mess with are ambulance or buses, so its a no go, bracket a must.

The "proper" ford lifting bracket and crane supposedly lifts the engine out with the front end together still.

Never worked anywhere that's had one so its either front clip apart or cab off.

I'm a large lad. I don't like school buses, ambulances, or even vans in general. Except to do HPOP and up pipes on lol. Even then both front seats come out.
