Hey guys my dad was in a really bad wreck Monday night and totaled out his F150. Long story short its his fault and not enough insurance coverage. So he is in desperate need of some money fast. So he is selling one of his trucks.

Need to get rid of this thing like yesterday.

2001 Dodge 24 valve Cummins 3500 Dually
360065 miles as of yesterday when I drove it last.
Automatic transmission 4x4
Red ext grey int SLT package.

The good.
It starts right up and runs fine. Moves around fine after it warms up. Body is in good condition for the age. Need to sell now. Taged and inspected.

The bad.
Blown head gasket (see cummins do it too.)
Torque converter is going out and truck wont reverse very well until it warms up. Slips a little going forward at first too. The driver seat has 360k miles on it from a 200lb+ man. It is shot. Windshield has some large cracks.
Needs 6 new tires.

$5000 obo

Truck is currently in the hill country west of Austin. I am trying to get the money to pay him for it myself if I cant sell it first and then it will be in DFW so I can deal with the craigslist fools and try to get rid of it. If I don't keep it and fix it.

I am waiting for my brother to send me some pics. I forgot to get them before it got dark yesterday while we were working on his 99. When he does I will post them up. If not I will probably be back down there tomorrow.

PM me or text me if you are interested. If I am with the truck I cant get internet to check here for question. 46nine-nine51-nine187

you cant tell from this pic but the chrome on the grill is starting to bubble. Front tire/rim may be swapped out to a silver one before it sells. The other one has a tire that isnt as flat.

I'm not trying to start a pi$$ ing match, just trying to help. Your high on your price. With the items that need replaced or fixed you can buy a running truck for that price.

$1k parts and labor for hg
$1k tires
$2-3k fix tranny
$300 for seat and windshield.

Assuming the VP pump and lift pump is good, if not there's another $2k. You can get $10k wrapped up in it in a hurry. To be completely honest with you its worth $3500. And I say that without being insulting. Just trying to help. Good luck.

And that's on the high side.... List it on CF and Compd, might be someone on there looking for a cheap dually.

May have more luck parting it out....

We will be doing that with the F150 more then likely. I want to avoid doing that to this one if I can.

I started high so I have some room to negotiate like always. Truck runs great and fires right up. Just looses about 2 quarts of oil per tank of fuel. He was driving it every day until he bought his F150 in February that he just totaled.

If all this was fixed how much do you think the truck would be worth?

If it was fixed its a $8k truck. Your saving grace is that its a southern truck. To the uneducated buyer the miles hurt you. Now if it was a 12v 5spd with same miles and rust free then it be worth $10k. Don't ask me why, other than its a more proven, desirable combo.

This one has had the injector pump replaced before. Its not the original. Transmission was rebuilt less then 100k miles and the torque converter was replaced twice already.

Price is dropping $4750 obo

Hate to sell it but really need the money.

Thanks
Things are starting to turn around for him. Turns out insurance is probably going to pay his other truck off after all.

Thats a great start to a pulling truck chassis. All the parts are already there, and its rust free. It should sell fast.

Thats what I was thinking and figured it would sell faster then it is. He got a couple of calls off of craigslist so hopefully it sells soon.
