I have what sounds like a exhaust leak "raspy flutter" coming from the driverside I'm guessing ethier the uppipes or the manifolds are leaking.

Thinking that I'm going to have to change ethier one, I was thinking of switching over to 6.0 manifolds.

On the 6.0 manifolds, I see that BD has their kit, which comes with uppipes spacers etc, does the BDs manifolds flow better than regular 6.0 manifolds? I've read a few past threads that the bd's are a huge improvement over the stock 6.4 manifolds but haven't seen a thread comparing them to stock 6.0 manifolds.

Any improvements in egts and peformance? The truck currently has a billet S366.

How hard would it be to do the manifolds cab on?

Any special tools needed?

Thanks in advance.

I have no experience with the bd manis so can't help you there.
Swapping to 6.0 manifolds can be done cab on but it's not fun. If you are doing up pipes also just go ahead and pull the transmission, you will be glad you did. If you have a egr ****** remove the catalyst pipe and move the egr blockoff plate to the up pipe. It will free up some room.

I'd recommend the BD's if you want to spend the money on them simply because they are super beefy and their uppipes are 321 stainless - the only type of stainless that should be used in a pre-turbo application. Everyone else's uppipes that I see are 304. I did my BD's cab-on, but I also had the heads off at the same time so I bolted the manifolds to the heads before sitting them back down.

The BD manifolds are really nice, but they're huge and leave little room if you have big hands to get them on with the cab down. Last few sets I've done including my personal truck I put them on while the heads were off. Its a tight fit on the passenger side, drivers side will be a lot easier due to the room on that side. No impossible just time consuming.

I've seen people remove the pass side spring perch to do the manifold then bolt back on with grade 8 bolts.

I should add that I did the BD manifolds and their uppipes. Cab on. Passenger side is tight, but its not terrible.

Its just time consuming. But not awful cab on. Lost a lot of skin though.

Did you noticed any sound difference? and did you try driving in T/H did it help?
Same sound, better spool up. Yeah I did. Lower EGTs with higher throttle. 1/4-1/2 was lower not on tow haul. 1/2+ was cooler in t/h. Just don't like how long it held out shifts.

Yeah book time didnt apply on those. We used to get 40hrs to do head gaskets on 6.0. Even 6.4 hpop used to get 30-35hrs.
At the dealer I'd put money on it they will pull the cab, even with the cab off pass side manifold is still a p i t a .

elite diesel sells just heavy duty up pipes.... you can get new or "remaned" last I checked, but not sure how they compare to the BD

I don't believe BD sells just the up pipes, its manifolds only or the full kit.

They sell up pipes separately. I bought the bd manis firsr then the up pipes later. Wouldve bought as kit had i known but wouldve had to wait for the set. I like the extention ac tube.

Also on the A/C line and the extension is it really needed, or just bend the tube alittle for clearance?

How much does it need to be bent? I know the extension only comes in the kit and you can't get it separate?

There's no way you're getting by without the AC tube. Even with it, it's fairly tight.
