Buddy of mine wants to hear his truck a little more , on the cheap side of things. Can we just use a 3.5 inch resonator in place of the muffler as still not have it to loud or have any drone?

That's all he wants to do , his is an 01. We figured a 3.5 inch so it welds right in.

The stock exhaust straight has to me a god awful cackle. The resonator should help control that some.

Any site sponsors? Didn't see them listed. Wouldn't mind supporting any of these guys on here.

Personally, I'd just go out and get a full exhaust system, instead of just the resonator.
I got a 4" turbo back from MBRP, tip included, for like $350.
Can't go wrong a bigger exhaust on a 7.3. :ford:

Like where a cackling sound comes from. All I ever hear is a nice flutter. When you say cackle I think of jackasses on harleys with straight pipes that hold every gear wot for 4 seconds before they shift just to hear themselves...

They made a fairly funny episode of south park about "biker fags"

I have had stock straight piped, 4" straight pipe and now I have Flo-Pro 5" with muffler and it's by far the best exhaust I have ever heard or installed.

ANSA Silverline 4" muffler that came in my kit. Summit Racing has a unreal price if $123 free shipping. UDM1409 . Polished T409 stainless steel. Sounds very good.

Somewhere down in Texas..
Stock straightpiped sounds hideous. Too much raspy crackle/flutter. No real sound, sorta like a wet fart.

4" turbo back with a muffler...can't go wrong, they about all sound the same honestly.
