Cold the pressure reads about 112 psi @ WOT. Once warm psi is 82 WOT. Inspected pressure regulator. It was fine but I did go ahead and try a new one. No change. It Blew out a new oil pressure sending unit so there definitely is a concern with this pressure I'm seeing.

15w40. Highly doubt it. I've installed hundreds. The regulator should bleed off anything over 75

One thing I can't find in all my information is where exactly that excess oil is bled off to. And I don't have a front cover off at the moment to verify it.

I would expect and have seen 100, but when it's single digit Temps. Not summer time, and not 82 psi when oil is thin @ op temp

What is the main concern the truck was brought in? Oil leaks? Or leaking from the sending unit?

the relief is set to 75 psi. anything over then it over comes the spring pressure and bleeds off.. issue is i cant find out where it bleeds off to, to check for obstruction.

the complaint was it was leaking oil. I found the NEW sending unit blown out. Then I verfied with 2 mechanical gauges what pressure was. IMO its very high and will blow out the sender again or turbo seal perhaps

Looks like excess pressure is returned to inlet side of pump.

I bet it's relived through the tiny port in the oil pump cover. I might pop that off

101 psi in neutral wot with oil @ 100°.

Thinking about tossing a flush in the oil as well.

Also tore off a oil pump on another motor and verified the bleed off port. Still puzzling why this truck sees anything more than 75
